Hearts out to Haiti & How You Can Help
For those of you who don’t know, I am the Seattle Green Interiors columnist with Examiner.com. Our recent newsletter addressed the recent disaster in Haiti and how the Examiner is helping, and how you can help our world family across the seas, even without spending money.
Excerpt from our Examiner.com newsletter:
On Jan. 12, Haiti was struck by the largest earthquake the island nation has ever seen. The Red Cross estimates that45,000-50,000 people have died as a result of the 7.0 quake. As rescue workers dig through the aftermath for survivors, millions are left homeless in the Western Hemisphere’s poorest country.
Examiner.com has published a resource page full of information on this catastrophic event that includes ongoing coverage and information on how individuals can contribute to the relief efforts in Haiti:
- You can simply text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross’ Haiti relief initiative.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the millions of people affected by this horrific situation.
