DIY console table / dresser on a budget

Before I had this beautiful mid-century dresser (which I received for FREE from Freecycle) I was making due with a collection of ugly cardboard and plastic storage systems. This was all fine and dandy when they were tucked nicely away in my closet. When I redesigned my closet, they had to come out, but I was still in need of their storage use. Of course it was mortifying for me to have these hideous storage systems out in the open, so a few minutes later, using only what I already had and repurposing a shelf, curtain and some fabric, I turned hideous into happy, resulting in a lovely console table/dresser.
